... volleyball but didn't realise she was still here. She has been attending Illinois State University for 3 years on a scholarship to play volleyball. Her mum was visiting so she was spending a few days in Chicago before her mum left for Aus again. We caught up and chatted for a while, took a photo and went our separate ways. It always amazes me how small the world actually is.

Woke up fresh and raring to go after a great nights sleep - one thing about the USA, their beds are top class and when a double room means two queen sized beds, it's glorious to stretch out and enjoy the comfort and space!!! We hit the Interstate lacking coffee because Kodaka is a bit too small for a coffee shop, and they're a little short on restaurants too - last nights dinner was in a very scratchy diner inside a Subway outlet! ... about 6, and we covered quite a distance. We crossed the Mississippi River, and we crossed through Iowa, and covered almost all of Minnesota, and stayed the night in Jackson, Minnesota. We travelled the I-20 through Illinois up to Waterloo where we took the 218 up to the I-90. We traveled the I-90 for the rest of the way. We crossed back over the Missouri River in South Dakota, and made it into Minnesota. Plains, farms, wind turbines, cows...

We stopped a little bit earlier than expected, but found a hotel right off the highway just as the kids really needed a break or sleep, and went for a great late night hot tub and swim. We'll drive extra tomorrow.
