... in less than a month, and as much as I am eager I am definitely nervous about the course load. With all my classes being taught in Spanish, and the last Spanish class I took being 3 years ago you could say I'm fully prepared... not. But what would life be without a little challenge, and adventure? That is how we grow, and I look forward to all I have to learn and experience while abroad in Barcelona.

... but being the optimists that we are we pressed on. The roads in Greater Madawaska Township had not been touched (wonder where my tax dollars go), however once reaching the county line to Lanark they had the roads cleared and salted so we felt better, especially in the hills between home and Perth. Once at Perth the roads were fine all we had was on and off again snow ...

We started out from Marleen & Chris's house on Waneta Lake and drove to Hammondsport where we stopped at a bakery and had breakfast. It was a place where people knew and greeted each other by name. With the cool, rainy weather, it was pretty quiet on the streets compared to the summer high season.

From Hammonsport, we drove eastward through Watkins Glen to Ithaca. There we attempted to park in order to see/walk to one of the famous gorges on the campus ...

... the rolling hills of the Finger Lake area, we were reminded a bit of our old country home in Virginia during the autumn’s turning of the leaves. We bid this region a fond farewell as we head into the beautiful vistas of New Jersey (come on go with it!) to visit family. Casey is looking forward to long hot showers with ample water pressure. YEA, who knew how great it was to have this anytime you want. WOW!
