Bright 7.15 start to the Eurostar station at St Pancras. Didn't realise the boarding station was in London. Had to go through customs twice. Once to leave UK and then again to enter EU. A lot easier border control. Train was so quiet and fast. Had a bit of a nap when going underground. Then into France for about 15 minutes and a stop at Lille. Then …

... the ground for miles, had a tomato fight, eaten my way around Europe, randomly found friends at a Florence concert, followed the trail of the monuments men, had my phone stolen, built muscles carrying my bag up and down stairs, and walked many a kilometre on walking tours. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

... and ques formed left, right and center. Dianne found a place for the night in a charming Jane Austen style hostel and was re-booked for the next afternoon.

Myself, alone in Brussels, had to find wifi and figure out how to navigate the city to get to the Air bnb Dianne had booked. However since Dianne had booked it, and since Dianne is usually in charge of city navigation (I am international travel) I had no map and no idea where I was. ...

... a refreshing beer. Think of a quintessential European dining picture and that was me. In my head at least. With my hunger satisfied, it was off for some more exploring. I'd really only taken notice of how to get to the Grote Markt when I was back in the hotel room, and figured I'd use wifi at lunch to work out my next moves. Sadly lunch didn't have wifi, so by now I was travelling by instinct. It didn't really matter as I had a bit of an idea of the directions I wanted to take to get ...
