I have to say... I think the all-women's class was [ironically] much more focused than this male-based lab! There were so many side-conversations (Kelly too, truth be told) about people's varied experiences & opinions, that I think this class suffered a little in regards to making sure that those that needed it got enough instruction. I've gone back to that conclusion numerous times since then. It's still hard to hold on to. But my point was that without being alone, without being forced to "ask the important questions" and look for the real substance, I never would have learned that. Similarly, I have learned that it takes a strong person to be able to be alone.
