... already know all the best spots!
We plan to visit Edinburgh before going onto London. As my husband is of Scottish heritage. I need MUCH advice on getting around Edinburg, Scotland without driving ourselve. We only have a few days before we head down to London so we would like to maximize our time there without being frantic
312 miles - set off at some un-Godly hour to drive from Chesterfield to Fife, Scotland to watch football! Trish likes the journeys but thinks the idea is crazy. Anyway, we are here now! Prior to the match we walked around the town - NOT Scotland's biggest attraction. Anyway, 2:30pm and I arrive at the ground ready for the match. One stand is fairly ...
Methhill, Scotland, United Kingdom chrisontour... itself was such a shock. It was like a combination of London and Vienna. Such gorgeous old buildings, I couldn't wait to explore..
..Meet up with some of my friend's mates in the station, aaaand then we end up in the St. James shopping mall thingy for an hour and a half. Now unlike most teenage girls - I. Hate. Shopping. Well at least just going around staring at clothes. Seriously, what is the point? My adventure ...
Fun trip to Murrayfield for Scotland v Fiji.....lots of happy Scottish faces after the win, boys in fancydress, stag parties galore, chuc-chucs ferrying folks home in the rain, great cocktails in an Italian Jazz bar and running to catch last train back home on a busy busy Saturday night train heading South.
Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom helen-marie... bronze level, which is therefore technically the lowest... hmm! Anyway, the first place Mum requested to stop was a "pretty little fishing village" called Elie. What the guidebook failed to mention was that the moment you stepped out of the car you'd have to fight with all your might ...
St. Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom sianethAlthough I had weekends off at the summer camp, Ania had to chaperone groups every saturday and sunday to places around Perth. Not wanting to stay at the school and twiddle my thumbs, I decided join her on a trip out to a part of Scotland I'd been wanting to see since the previous summer, St Andrews. Probably most famous as the home of golf, St Andrews actually had a lot of history. The day didn't begin well, with our slightly erratic bus driver managing to puncture a front tyre on the ...
St Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom will... downhill downwind par 3 of 205 yards, and I hit a nine iron. The 10th I had 135 yards uphill and into the wind and I hit a 6 iron short. The amazing things of golf in the wind - distances don't matter - take whatever club will get you there! The 13th hole was a blind par 3 with the wind in the face - I couldn't even get a ball on the green. I just admired the view and took an X. After another rusty nail on the 16th, we finished up ...
St. Andrews, United Kingdom kmwest422... flights, not yours truly. I just put them in my red folder and felt special about it. That is all.) Emily's mom met us at the Edinburgh airport and drove us and our stuff: my three suitcases... (we're almost down to two!), Katie's very broken suitcase (it fought with the doors in the Paris metro... and the metro won), and Em's stuff... she's low maintenance. We got to her house and dropped everything, had dinner, and proceeded to do ...
Edinburgh, United Kingdom emiglia... and hopefully get to see the country. It could be 10 weeks in total before I get back to the UK! As for when I will head back to actually do some work, I am not sure, nor do I know where that will be, but no worries about that. Still months away. I am still deciding what to do before I head down to Portugal, lots of options is my problem at the moment. I want to go everywhere and see everything! The next 3 ...
St. Andrews, United Kingdom steph_444... fireworks display at midnight, and we toasted in the new year with whisky and vegan champagne truffles. Mmm mmm, *****. And, believe it or not, Esther was the first one to **** out. The rest of us could've stayed there drinking a bit longer. But, since I was the designated driver (even though we walked), we decided to head back to the flat. But we still stayed up until 5 AM or something. It was fun. The next day, sleeping in again. We went to see The ...
