Today we set out to visit Gettysburg, PA military park. We had a really informative private guided car tour in and around the Gettysburg area seeing most of the major battle points and the history of the 3 day battle. Pretty intense.
After the 2 hour car tour, we visited the museum. We viewed a 30 min movie about the battle followed by viewing the second largest Cyclorama in the world depicting the Battle. After that, ...
Woke up this morning and boy are we sore. Who would have thought just driving for 7+ hours would do that. We are about to grab breakfast and then make the 30 min drive to Gettysburg to meet with our guide. Our guide is to provide a 3 hour history tour of Gettysburg and the surrounding area. In the mid-50's the Eisenhower's had horses and ponies in there for their grandchildren. Mamie made everyone sign a guest book upon entering the house - even the grandchildren. Some of the kids would sneak in the back door to avoid signing the book - yet again!
