... had us off the road until it calmed down. However, the wine and cider tasting at Hauser Estate made the trip worthwhile and the rain was forgotten. Leaving there we and stumbled upon a 100 year old round barn that supplied home grown produce so we stocked up for our evening meal....fresh peaches and fruit from their trees, local cheeses and meats and various coloured home grown tomatoes. A 7:30 am start got us moving south on rte 15 from Gettysburg on the road to Appomattox. At 9:00 am we crossed the Potomac River and soon stumbled onto Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. We didn't really have an agenda so it's time to check it out. We decided to buy the National Park Pass so we can enter most National Parks for one year. What a deal!
