... there... it looks a pretty small place for a city, some nice streets though and the river was nice at night.
Saturday I worked at the Aquadome - there was so much frost when I woke up it was ridiculous, and caught me completely unaware... and then it was ...
... king - who told her that if she put her face in the enchanted river for 7 seconds, her beauty would be restored forver and peace would return. Which she did - and which we did too! Yup! threw our faces, in the middle of the rain, on cold slippery rocks! (hopefully i'll be able to upload photos at the next hostel!).
Phew - what a day! and what an entry! Tonight at the hostel is the Tartan Yoga party, so i had better go and see what outfit Josh has created.
Till next time!
... merriment and band playing.
Todays meals have consisted of Haggis Sausage Roll for lunch and baked potato with haggis mince for dinner! Mince has come a long way n the past few years - due to EU regulations they have to put some form of normal meat in it, although there is still bit of heart, kidney and liver poking out! Very tasty though, might have to have Haggis Curry one night when we get home!
To the Isle of Sky tomorrow

Today I headed of to Loch Einlich with Jade from the hostel. She was over from Canada and had asked if she could come along with me. I had first planned to go off on my bike but as it was fairly expensive to hire a bike we decided to go off on foot.
We walked down to the Loch and then up one of the footpaths up the side of the mountain to get a better view of the loch and also some more pictures. We started the final part ...
... the time I got everything sorted and left the hostel it was around midday so I decided to head over to Aviemore via Loch Ness for a few pictures, first stopping at Foyers Falls and then a few places along Loch Ness south shore.
I arrived at Aviemore at around 15:00 and checked in to the Bunk House, got my room sorted and then went for a walk around the town, stopping at Tescos for some food for dinner. Yep, pasta and chicken again!
... down the side of a mountain, you first have to cycle to the top of it. This worked out to be a 2.5 mile ride to the top, so I was knackered before I started.
The red route was split in to upper and lower sections with a 1.5 mile ride back up the mountain to join the next stage. The upper section went without problems and I took it a bit carefully to start off with. The I started the ...
... Augustus from Inverness I intended to go the quieter route on the north shore, but somehow coming out of Inverness I must have taken the wrong turning as I ended on the busier south shore route. I guess I will just have to go back that way tomorrow.
Got over to Fort Augustus at around 15:00 today, booked into an independent hostel Morags Lodge ...
... played into the wee hours, movie watching and a wee dram....fabulous!

A few days after we arrived back from Egypt and Jordan we had another guest, Dave. So we decided to take him up to the Scottish Highlands for the weekend to see the wilderness and the amazing glens that Scotland has. Katherine took Dave to Stirling and Linlithgow during the day while I was at work. From what I hear Dave had a great day however he did pop the occasional lens from his sunnies. Later on they swung past my work (once I'd finished of course) and we ...
Kilravock Castle, Scotland, United Kingdom dkjohansen... been locked in in the morning. But it was fun to see, and gave me some more to think about in the next edit. Including that if the weather is always this cold, there is no way Shawn would be making his romantic plans for that tower!!!!! I haven't uploaded pictures of the castle yet, and it's too late tonight, but now that I have internet from my own computer at the hostel, I'll add some pictures to some of the other entries.
