... has been absolutely spectacular. Last time I was here I remember having to stop at LLBean to buy a t-shirt, because even though it was early November it was sunny and in the 70s and I was not prepared. Monday we left the coast and headed inland through western Maine, up into New Hampshire ...

The annual fall road trip has begun! Addie and I left Brooklyn yesterday afternoon, heading north into Connecticut to begin our adventures. After a shockingly painless passage out of the City, we soon found ourselves on scenic highway 7, which runs up the western edge of New England all the way to Canada.

Concentrating on getting from rock to rock made us forget how much work we were doing. When we got to the top we knew ...

      ... that day.

After the great exercise, Brian decided to make homemade pasta. Tony and Michelle had a pasta maker and Brian showed them his technique for making pasta from scratch in a very short amount of time. We made two types of sauce: a tomato based sauce and a pesto. Both were delicious.

Looking at the pictures I took, I wish I had taken one of David! =(

We had a great rest of the evening watching TV on their projector screen ...

A special visit with a girlfriend after 36 years!

A travel blog entry by heavenonearth on Oct 04, 2014

Debbie and I have talked on the phone from time to time, over the 36 years since we got out of the Air Force in 1978 but... I never thought I'd find myself just 70 miles from her home in Massachusetts!!! She was SO SURPRISED when I called her and asked if we could stop by for a visit!! Spending time with her was absolutely one of my favorite experiences on our ...
