So after a little worrying that nothing would come through....they did. The catalyst being an e-mail via the British Burns Association. Once that was sent out I received a few offers of places to visit; Galveston (Texas) and New York. Phew!

Additionally, I had a message from the Chairman of the Katie Piper Foundation asking whether I would like to contribute to the charity's own journal named the 'Journal of Burns, Scars and Healing', which is an exciting prospect. ...

    Day Ninety Five: Barnsley

Today was another day of me copping stick from every man and his dog in England today about the cricket. We wandered inside taking in as much of the craftsmanship as we could before heading out to the Abbey Gardens. Words can not describe the true beauty. Walking around the gardens where centuries of people have walked before us still ...

... this whole part of the country is.

After being greeted by George and Jayne, settling in, and putting my laundry in the washing machine (yup, still taking my washing "home" for the weekend), we headed over to Ian's parents house while Jane went to pick up some takeout (or take-away as they sometimes call it here). I had never met Jean and Keith before, and with all the history between our ...
