    ... very nicely built and in the tiny town of Castellinaldo. Breakfasts were feasts, with many varied foods including poached pears, baked pears, and pear tart, all fantastic. There were various cakes and egg dishes and crème caramel which we suspected might have been left from dessert the night before at the restaurant but which we all loved.

    ... the life of Guido's cousin Orfeo who will be sadly missed.

    Boys spent the afternoon tree surfing while Gran and I caught up on some washing, it always feels great when you have a case full of clean clothes when you are traveling.
    Spritz in the local piazza with enough nibbles - that always accompany pre-dinner drinks- to feed a small family!! casual walk through town before selecting the nights dinner venue. So not looking forward to cooking when I get home!!

    ... shattering inspirations while wandering around Piedmont for 3 days, and it's felt pretty rushed--but does feel good to tell myself that I've finished exporing North and Central Italy (except some of the Alpine provinces and the Trieste area...)
