... ski town in the Cairngorms National Park which is very similar to Australian skiing - ie. not fabulous).
Stopped for lunch at Pitlochry back at our new favourite hang out Hetties. We had high tea on cake stands again then went for a walk down to the river.

Pitlochry turned it on for the Walsh's who both agreed it was pretty much the most gorgeous town ever!

Back in the car and headed to St Andrews

Das war die Kurzform. Hier sollte eine geistreicher Eintrag die Grundgedanken meiner Arbeit in Form einer Analogie zu meinem Skiurlaub in Schottland erscheinen, aber stattdessen durchlebe ich meine Schreibschwierigkeiten bei diesem Eintrag analog zur Examensarbeit (soll ganz toll werden und wird dann gar nicht).

... weather that was cancelling trains and flights, closing bridges and tipping over lorries. We took a walk around Inverness, mainly looking to book ourselves on a Loch Ness cruise and find out what else there is to do in the area. Nothing was open so we had dinner and decided to come back in the morning. There was a local band playing at our hotel pub so we spend a nice evening listening to some local jazz.

The next day ...

33. Haggis and Hootanannys

... to try some haggis and local ale so we were a bit surprised to find that this Scottish pub was serving Thai food. But nevermind! We got to see a fantastic Highland Pipe and Drum band "Saor Patrol." Had a good laugh at their groupy (one drunken middle-aged lady with the hots for one of the drummers) too.

At the end of their set, Blair and I took a stroll along the river to play with the camera and take some night shots ...

Nessie doesn't like Christmas

... that we could step inside out of the weather for a while.

On arriving back to the hotel we prepared ourselves for our Christmas Dinner and a night of Ceilidh Dancing... it was fun, bouncy, exhausting and reminded me very much of my days at a local bush dance... all the moves were the same - it really felt like the last time I'd done anything like that was yesterday. It was a perfect way to end our Christmas day in the highlands.
