... is that you are near a metro stop. A 4 day metro pass was 25 euro as opposed to 2.50 every ride. It seemed like a steep price but after taking that for 4 days I easily spent half as much as I would have had I not bought the pass. The metro was fantastic, not quite as easy as in Paris, but all of the major monuments had a stop and they were clearly outlined so even a novice could navigate the city. ... We've decided that we're not going to queue or pay to go into things that the kids really aren't interested in (unless its a 'must do'). ... Barcelona vs Athletico Madrid (soccer). We had pre-purchased the tickets back home so getting in was really easy.Our seats were amazing, the crowd was 73, 000, of which we think was 98% home crowd (Barcelona) supporters. Needless to say the atmosphere was pretty special. It was a good game but disappointing in that no goals were scored - the best player in the world (Messi) couldn't even kick a penalty!
