    ... ended up at the port down at the end of Las Ramblas and behold, before us, was the statue of Colon. It was simply fantastic to see something written about in a book exist.     ... a lovely park with a huge open area for entertaining that overlooked the city. In front of all of this sit two houses that look like they come right out of a fantasy. One is the guard house and the other the gift shop today. I'm not sure about their original purpose.

    ... not so staged for tourists - even though the place was full of tourists. But it was not a big production so it was very enjoyable as it was in a more intimate setting. We then went out for dinner. We now feel like locals, we ate at 11:30 pm. Unlike the locals sadly I was falling asleep at the table... We walked back well past midnight. La Rambla was packed with people, a lot of youngsters out. There was a high police presence and the crowd was orderly and it felt very ...
