... unless there was something we really needed. There was simply no space for extras in our backpacks!

Fuelled up on delicious bagels, we hit the road again for a long four hour stint inland. The journey felt long, but some of the views were truly beautiful and the tunes were great (Chris' epic Californian themed playlist!)

... running out of fuel. We stay in a B&B called Restful Nest. The property is owned by Lois & John who are very friendly hosts. They provide a wonderful breakfast for us the next morning.

One of the highlights of staying here is seeing Hummingbirds - amazing tiny birds that flap their wings a million miles an hour & can hover in the one place. They are quite mesmerising.

We are all very tired & happily sleep.

... I saw a squirrel open a muesli bar and eat it. We also saw a coyote trying to find a nice quiet spot at the bus stop to eat the squirrel it had just caught. -'The Mist trail' to Vennel falls This trail had a few distance options. You could go to the base of the falls, to the top of the falls or further up to another waterfall.
