We drove through the central highlands pulling off and taking pictures, more amazed at each stop than the last. We reached the village of Glencoe and stopped for fuel for the rental car. At $ 8.60 a gallon american. Luckily it only took about ten liters.

This morning was an early start, I was in a taxi at 7.30am on my way to meet up with the tour I had booked. Standing in the carpark at the end of the Royal Mile, which is all cobblestones, stone buildings and roadworks, we saw a fox! I was so amazed when I saw it, at first I just thought it was a dog, I had to do a double take. Poor little thing looked so lost. I managed to get a few photos of it, and probably frightened it more . ...

In the morning we enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast, complete with haggis, before checking out and moving on. The Highland Wildlife Park was next on the list and it was fantastic. There's a self-drive area where animals like camels, yak, moose, wild horses, vicuna, and llamas have space to wander freely, and also a walking area with viewing spots for tigers, wolves, red pandas, monkeys, a polar bear ...
