... which again we were cutting fine. Brenda was a fantastic host and if you ever fancy cycling on Vancouver Island, I'd recommend contacting her for a place to stay. The serious man at the ticket booth suggested we would be lucky to get on-board due to US immigration but we did with enough time to try and source some Canadian tea before entering the US and the San Juan ...

... They will be close to the end of an almost 2 month trip, cycling from the Atlantic along the Loire River into Germany to Munich. We'll spend 4 nights with them in a hotel on the lake, hearing all about their adventures, doing some day cycles and getting acclimatized to Germany thanks to Werner who was born there.

Once again, perfect weather!! The Canadians are so proud. Bunny says that this summer has been the best that anyone can remember!! It is so good, as it is quite cold at night and you can sleep, and in the morning still cool. This morning I set out with a woollen jacket over a long sleeved shirt, and was even a bit cold, until the cloud cover burned off and the sun shone and it was perfect, and even hot. And now it is getting towards 7 pm, the sun getting lower ...

... Exactly where I had been last year when the weather was terrible.
Now the good news is: the weather was great. The light was exactly in the right direction. I was so set to go. You won't believe it.
The bad news. Killer Whale are an endangered species. There are not that many Killer Whale left in our seas. Breeding them is very hard. They are large animals with actually no natural enemies besides human and the effects of humans on the environment. ...
