... which again we were cutting fine. Brenda was a fantastic host and if you ever fancy cycling on Vancouver Island, I'd recommend contacting her for a place to stay. The serious man at the ticket booth suggested we would be lucky to get on-board due to US immigration but we did with enough time to try and source some Canadian tea before entering the US and the San Juan ...

... They will be close to the end of an almost 2 month trip, cycling from the Atlantic along the Loire River into Germany to Munich. We'll spend 4 nights with them in a hotel on the lake, hearing all about their adventures, doing some day cycles and getting acclimatized to Germany thanks to Werner who was born there.

Then we will take another train to Nevere on the Loire River in France where ...

... to Little Creek, unless it is just a larger, one level non-smoking section. At Angel of the Winds though they are adding a hotel expected to open in 2015 I think. Denis managed to leave up at this casino so it was a nice end to the trip.

We crossed through the Peace Arch crossing in about 17 minutes (reader board indicated 15 minute wait) which was great but that final stop at Walmart and couple extra minutes at Angel of the Winds meant we ...

Once again, perfect weather!! The Canadians are so proud. Bunny says that this summer has been the best that anyone can remember!! It is so good, as it is quite cold at night and you can sleep, and in the morning still cool. This morning I set out with a woollen jacket over a long sleeved shirt, and was even a bit cold, until the cloud cover burned off and the sun shone and it was perfect, and even hot. And now it is getting towards 7 pm, the sun getting lower ...

... Bay, a stop in Nanaimo (from where the ferry leaves). In Nanaimo at the bus station, we switched buses, but they transferred our bags.

The bus ran pretty much on time . . . but the seats are definitely not as comfortable as the Aurora Lounge on the big BC Ferry!!! Some of the terrain goes along the east coast of Vancouver Island . . . and some goes into the mountains . . . but we eventually make it into Victoria . . . and it is the weekend of BC Days ...
