So, the Ozone layer, how’s that working out

... I think I will have to get a Ute – a 6 litre monster from Holden should see me right! Whilst on this digression about cars I wondered into Martinborough today and saw a mint TR2/2a/3 (they all look the same to me) and I could not help thinking that a TR6 would not be out of place over here. Problem is I need a lotto win to be able to keep running that beast! Anyways getting back to the music. I realised that as I was driving some ...

Quad Biking in NZ

... for in-laws: 'Outlaws'. He's also been to visit Peter Jackson's house, a friend was there to do contracting work and he rode along. Apparently, PJ has a series of portholes connecting all the rooms in his house to the pool. We all agreed he must have more money than he knows what to do with. But New Zealander's aren't complaining too much since tourism has bumped up with folks wanting to see locations where the ...

... farm they have some rare breed stock; these include Staffordshire Sheep and Red Poll cattle which originate from East Anglia, along with a handful of Clydesdale cart horses and of course a flock of chooks! We also enjoyed meeting the neighbouring farmers too, helping to drive their cattle down the road to a new paddock after delivering one of Helens Bulls to them. Helen was not only the perfect host but also acted as the local tour guide showing us around the area and she even ...

Winding Roads

... but they were certainly a challenge photographically (1.5 seconds @ 1600 ISO, handheld in red lighting . . ). Then to Masterton, where I bought a dubious alarm clock (shouts the time at you) because it was the only one for miles. Subsequently discovered a specialist alarm clock shop about half a mile from tonight's campground! They may get a visit in the morning (or afternoon, if it really doesn't work). Then ...

Trip to Wairarapa - Carterton

... World - not as Dylan had hoped an attraction devoted to the Power Rangers but a small factory and shop that sells Paua jewellery and designs. In the evening what struck us was how quiet it is and a bit more like Helen remembers New Zealand years ago rather than busy Welington. One of the buildings in the main street was basically a shed, with a Senior Citizens Club sign. It looked a pretty desperate ...

Solo Surf Mish - Escape from Wellington City

... of the name of. Christen woke me up early as hell the next morning and made the call to drive around to Tora. It looked pretty big. There was a jet ski flying around in what looked like solid double over head surf. I could barely hold my board with my right arm but went out anyways. Was almost a mistake but didn't get pounded too bad and caught a couple good ones. Saw andy slip into a really nice barrel on the insides. Outsides was easily six feet and there were a couple ...

... to get my stuff out at 6 in the morning to get ready for work. SO needless to say, I can imagine what it would be like to work hungover on no sleep for a 12.5 hour shift, and it will NEVER happen. I'm going to crash SOON! Well, another day ay to survive tomorrow (that should be fun), then only 6 shifts left there ever! Sweet! Also, everything is sorted and I'll be receiving all the back pay shortly... AND I got my cheque for the refund on the GST I had to pay on my laptop. Awesome!! XX

Le Tour de Martinborough

... all over the place. We walked across a swing bridge and then took a little trek through the woods. It was really beautiful. We arrived in Martinborough about an hour later. This is another major wine producing area. We found our hotel, called Parehua (on New York Avenue!). This place was AMAZING!!! We had our own unit which was kind of like an open loft. It had a full kitchen, fireplace and balcony with a hot tub! The view was ...

North Island Roadtrip Day 1

... playground, train, mini golf, skate park, rose garden, lake walk, and even a flying fox which Aron and I thoroughly enjoyed. We had dinner at the cafe in the park calle Cicille Cafe. The ambiance, food and service were excellent. We had a Paua fritter for starters and shared Tarnaki fish for the main course. Masterton seems to have alot to offer for its size. Tomorrow we go north to Morere hot springs and plan on stopping at the Tui Brewery and a native bird breeding park.

... to meet you there. He will be right over. Anyway, once on board the ferry, we went to get some lunch in the food court. Yasmin was most miffed that we missed out on a window seat and complained loudly enough that the twenty-something bloke sitting there eventually thought he'd get peace and quiet elsewhere. Score one for whingeing, zero for expectation management. After lunch, we entertained the kids ...
