      ... local supermarket and the fruit and vege shop. you have to put on a plastic glove to choose your fruit and veges and their choices are very basic, not spoilt like we are! Larry was very interested in choosing some vino and beers that seem to be in plentiful supply. I think I could have stayed in Canneto a little longer... It is gorgeous. ...

      ... and murmured "what a good idea" to each other. Then, much to Bronte's amusement, they came back and tied them round our necks as well. She laughed for about 10 minutes! We didn't need dessert but I ordered a tiramisu for Jo. We stuck a candle in it and all sang Tanti auguri a te . . . It took a few days, but we finally covered off Jo's birthday celebration. Sorry Jo! Next time we are in Italy for your birthday, I will do better. Promise. 13 August ...

      ... street, the signs gave out. Dead reckoning and swearing eventually led us back on track more than a few times. Not sure if it is easier to steer or to navigate but we were both a bit frazzled by the time we got to Cefalu and found a park. Mind you, we had to stop at one point so that Bronte could get out and spew. Perhaps its no picnic in the back, either. Cefalu is a tourist town. Its old centre is beautifully ...

      ... the internet. After all the other places we have stayed in this trip, we will miss having a view. However, we are only metres away from the main drag and the waterfront - maybe 300m to the beach. We had a walk around this afternoon to acquaint ourselves with the town. Sadly, we were overwhelmed by all the rubbish lying around. The place is a tip. The people here obviously have things other than the environment on their mind as they step around (or in) ...
