Ballarat, Victoria, Australia samjakeG'day... so I ended my last memento on April 4th. What has happened since then. Allot! So Thrursday the 5th ... I had a thoughtful day. Allot of thinking and processing. Mainly because the bed above my bed since its a bunk bed has graffiti on one of the pine wood planks and it says in clear bold black graphite, "TRUST IN THE LORD." and beside it in small handwriting was a scripture Genesis 8:16.( i think?) So I was laying in bed contemplating who is the Lord and why cant ...

Melbourne CDB, Australia carolinesheartG'Day Everyone. We left the campgound at Warrnambool and headed along the coastal road to the town of Port Fairy to have a look at the old town. The town had many old buildings and homes that have been kept up really good. As with many of the small towns of Australia that we have gone through, the towns have kept many of the old buildings that were built in the 1800's. You could just imagine what the towns were like over ...
Ballarat, Australia vannhansen... youghurt for breakfast, fruit furing the day, and a sandwich with ham and cheese and Peanut Butter and lunch/dinner combo (did not feel like eating more). After 4 days of that we went to a grocery store in the evening and looked in the roasted chicken section for some real warm food. There was one chicken left, and since they were closing, the girl offered it to us for only $5. We said there is no way we could finish thins thnig as it was bigger than a volley ...
Malbourne, Australia mrewkowski... agrro on the streets, loads of boarded up shops and it appeared to be an entire city of misery. Did find a pub that brewed it's own beer though, so had a couple of pints of the wonderfully named 'Lager Lout'! (Still can't work out how I put weight on!). The Museum was pretty good but wasn't exactly sad to leave. Next stage was Airlie Beach, a bit more adventure was promised. Small but fairly well presented places, loads of bars and restaurants, but this place was all ...
Melbourne, Australia sotonseagullMelbourne CBD is quite compact, flat and very easy to get around with some great shops and very Victorian. Main Areas of the CBD: Elizabeth Street: Mainly souvenir stores, fast food, alfresco dining, horse drawn carriages and basement discount stores. Swanston Street: Electronic and photography stores, camping stores, fast food, motorbike shops and fashion. Bourke Street: Large department stores and my favorite shop JB Hi Fi. Little Bourke ...
Melbourne, Australia dylancWe've abandoned the coastline and Melbourne to explore the goldfields of Victoria. Ballarat is a Victorian town with many large buildings obviously financed by gold. We visited one Gold field museum, about Eureka Stockade and tomorrow we are doing a 'living history' museum of Sovereign Hill. On the way here, there was no rain, as soon as we arrived it started, this must be a ...
Ballarat, Australia chezgra... Queensland. I have purchased eight of the thirty plus topographic maps and have six more on order. The maps 100.000:1 km scale and i could only source them from the glass house in Ballarat, it is a government departmental office. The maps cost nine dollars nifty each but i got a discount on a few because they were a few years old....hopefully this will not be of too much bother. Some areas were last surveyed in the early to mid 70's. Looking down on ...
