... So the money needs to be found in the budget and thus I didn't want to spend a lot of money at "tourist traps".

The Big Banana is one of them. We drove in to signs of tobogganing, ice skating, plantation tours and a water park. We took a couple of photos (mandatory!) and watched a demonstration of candy making before we left.

... spent relaxing at the pool in the hostel. On the evening we went for a meal in a place named "The Hogs Breath" and then went to the local fair that was in town followed by a walk around the harbour. All in all we are so pleased that we chose to stop in this small seaside town and like with so many places wished the time would not end, however the journey continues with a 6:25am coach to Byron Bay.. ... so upbeat and organised. We sailed out to Whitehaven beach first. We had to get in the jog and get dropped off on the far side of the island and walk over. I tell you the lookout they have there gives you the most amazing view. The whiteness of the sand (its so white it reflects the heat)and the colours of the water are breathtaking!! You then notice all the black aliens dotted on the beach but realise its people in stinger suits, sexy!! Brit got us to pose for loads ...
