... the inner harbour for a beer while I enjoyed an icecream!! The narrow streets filled with interesting shops & galleries & were unique & delightful to stroll around. It was another gem of a find for us as we had no idea what was waiting for us on Cape Cod. I have to say though I would hate it in the summer as there is only one main road in & out of the Cape and very little parking space at the beaches!

... the Natick churches were gay friendly, with a female reverend. What a perfect little town! We used the afternoon to slowly drive down to Cape Cod. Once again we avoided highways and enjoyed the drive through all the little towns. New England has so much history that every town seems to have so much spirit and soul to it that the drives are really fun. We stopped in a town called Sandwich, right at the entrance to Cape Cod. ... emporium, lottery and something resembling a national, televised bingo game. Our beshorted waitress, Dawn, scurried about, took our order and served us with a minimum of grace. My first clam chowder and Steph's seafood bisque were both promisingly tasty; the meatloaf and fish n chips less so! Not so cheap and definitely not cheerful. It was still raining and our hotel room offered warmth and shelter. The storm continued throughout the evening. We weren't going anywhere tonight. ...

... yuk) of what the ship came to mean for the intrepid sailors. We made a brief stop to see the "Plymouth Rock" where supposedly the Mayflower tied up on its arrival. The truth is the stone has been changed and moved repeatedly and has little genuine significance now, not that that stopped our colonial friends from taking oodles of pictures of a rock with 1620 stamped on it.
