Can't believe we're camping on the shores of Lake Champlain!!! We've had incredible experiences in this area of New York. This state continues to keep us on our toes!! We had an amazing hike through the Ausable Chasm where the river was rushing through a canyon of steep walls with incredible force (especially after several big storms the days before our visit.
Then yesterday we took a drive into the Adirondack mountains & rode our first gondola up the slope ...

... the van and continued cleaning and stowing throughout the day in on-again, off-again rain. Because of the forecasted heavy rain in the region, some of the locks in the Erie canal have announced that they will be closing until the high water subsides. So far none of the locks on the Champlain Canal will be closed. We hope to get underway Sunday morning. Our first stop is expected to be Whitehall, New York.

Took our time this morning and had a great breakfast as usual, Rick served up a treat. 2 cheeses and apples with fig chutney.
