Drove straight up to Maggie and Brian's cottage in northern Vermont. Sun shining brightly but deceptively - it was 4deg. The cottage is right on the shore of Echo Lake ( not the same one we saw yesterday - that was south). M & B come here from Montreal, takes about 2 & half hours. It was a good day to stroll the grounds and view the exhibits at the Shelburne Museum. It was spitting rain, which didn't impact our walks and the collections were inside, so we could get pictures without worrying about the rain.

Lake Champlain got more narrow as the day progressed. The scenery was beautiful, but it's such a shame the last few days have been smoggy. Apparently this is not normal even for hot humid days- the fogginess is being blamed on the smoke in the air from the fires in Washington.
