Today we arrived at our campground at BEALS POINT, at FOLSOM SRA.. Nice spot with full hookup, except no TV reception. Oh well, we plan to be busy this week. We left Tahoe on the afternoon of Aug 27th. The drive Down HWY 50 to Placerville was beautiful . We went from 7,000 ft to around 2,200 ft. in a couple of hours. The group departed Davis early hoping to beat the heat on a 65 mile journey into the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. Memorial Day festivities made for crowded travel on the 30 miles of the American River bike trail but the mild weather and shade from the old oak trees made the ride comfortable. Beyond Folsom the heat and road traffic picked up and made the rising highway grades more of a challenge.
