We went through the Smith part of the Redwood National Forrest and then on down the main Redwood Forrest where we took pictures of largest redwood 222.2 feet in diameter and originally 300 feet high. Spectacular. Then to Fort Bragg after a hair raising trip over 2 mountains on US 1001. In Fort Bragg we had difficulty finding a motel to spend night. Found one but expensive.
... are some very steep places you can walk down to the water. Didn't try it though but did see people down on the shore. There is still evidence of when this area was a big logging community. There were some more sea archs with the waves crashing through and another collapsed sea cave. It was all very nice but the flowers were not as colorful as though we had seen on the Russian Gulch headlands.

... 30. This particular Inn does a light buffet dinner at 5:30 which you can help yourself to and it has been enough to have as a dinner so we don't have to worry about eating out in the evening. These Inns are quite social. Normally you meet with the other residents in the lounges or at breakfast when you may sit with them too. It's interesting to talk to other travellers.
