... was seeing their clothes lines run up to the top of poles. The whole countryside is dotted with little towns, houses over hills and little simple single room schools. We passed several horse and buggies trotting sling on their daily business. After a nice long back roads drive with a couple of stops we came back to the cabin for a restful afternoon, playing a bit of pool on the pool table and of course, kicking the footy outside AND repacking suitcases to get ready for the next move ...

... 3475 tickets between all of us!!!! We took Sam over to the counter and he picked a large hot wheels set and a Chuck E Cheese stuffed toy. Sam and the rest of the boys had a fantastic time celebrating his birthday. When we left Chuck E Cheese we drove across the car park to Walmart. We desperately needed to buy some jackets and gloves for Cooper and Jordan, which we found easily enough. Mitch bought a trolley full of clothes and we bought some fruit loops and milk ...

Today is a 6 hour road trip!!! We got up a bit earlier this morning trying to get an early start. We had breaky then headed back up to our room to pack. We have a separate duffle type bag that is accumulating goodies to send home in a box. Once we got all packed up, the boys lugged it all down to the lobby while I did a last room check to make sure we hadn't forgotten anything. As I was leaving the room I could see a quick glimpse down to the lobby ...

The weather was good heading north...missed most of the rain that was predicted on Monday...but boy did we hit a lot of bugs in Georgia. Our windshield was practically covered! Then, when the rain hit, Richard was hesitant to turn in the wipers...thought we'd have a blinding mess...but it was fine. We stayed in Wytheville, VA last night and got a good start this morning.

... onto small country roads. It was great to see the farms again mainly corn and beans and some dairying.

Staying in Ashland tonight. It appeared to be a small town but it is much bigger than we thought. Had dinner at a Bob Evans family restaurant. Have seen them in other places. We had a lovely slow roasted pot roast. The meal came with a salad served before the entree (read main meal) and included veggies with the meal. Heaven !!
