At Peyto Lake we hiked up a trail to escape other people and were rewarded with yet more stunning views and the boys in the group freaking us out by performing ridiculous balancing tricks on rocky outcrops.     When we eventually escaped town, the scenery was really nice. It was a particularly hot day so I found a nice camp spot on Pullen Lake after only 65 km of cycling and settled there for the night.

    ... Denise was on the lookout for bears the whole way to Jasper, but no luck. We did see a mountain goat and some deer, and a squirrel tried to commit suicide by running across the highway.
