The end of a marvelous day at the pond, followed by a wonderful New England fish sandwich was capped by dinner at Gusanoz, a Mexican restaurant in Lebanon, NH which, interestingly enough was featured in an episode of Robert Irvine's Restaurant Impossible in 2012. There I met the most interesting man in the world, or should i say he met me! The appearance ...

... historic site.  Rafting on the Colorado is out.  Turns out it's a 140 mile drive one-way from where we're staying at the Grand Canyon. I think 4,000+ miles of driving is MORE than enough!  However, we are splurging on the "expensive" $10 tickets for the Budweiser brewery tour in St. Louis. We're going to Nashville! Made reservations last night just outside in the town of Springfield. Something less than $100/night including tax. (And 4.5% cash back from Ebates!) Nashville was WAY too expensive. I think the lowest price we found was $166 and it was an Econolodge!

Next up, Louisville. Going to see the ponies at Churchill Downs.

Speaking of Churchill Downs, Happy Kentucky Derby Day! Did you watch? Who did you pick to win? I ...

Well, like I said, it's going to be an expensive trip. No pressure, but if you want to donate there's a nifty PayPal button right on the front page.

Well, I've got to go now. This blogging could become an obsession if I'm not careful or so I've been told. Plus we have more planning to get to and our trip is only four weeks away. Y'all come back okay?

This has been the winter that won't quit. And, it has been the year that I haven't been able to take my usual "sunny break trips." When we had another few inches of snow on April 8. I looked at the tracks left by early spring birds and comforted myself saying, it looks and feels like January but the "sunny break" is bound to be just days away.

While I wait I've been reading Rachel Naomi Remen's book "Kitchen Table Wisdom." I restarted my ...
