Casual start to the morning with a croissant and coffee for breakfast, followed by 6 hours walking around Old Town Genoa. The sights around the upper end are much better than the port, we sat on the steps of a church for half an hour and did some people watching.

Fortunately the shop assistant, who spoke English, explained that the "nero" part of the address meant that I had to look at the big black numbers on the building not the normal numbers ..... I ended up at the pointy end of Via XX Settembre near Piazza ...

... for the Uni year at Genoa Uni. They were lovely girls, and spoke quite good English, so we had a great chat with them, and they asked us lots of questions about Australia. It is only a short walk from the Genoa station to the port. However, we managed to add about another kilometre, by turning right instead of left as we entered the port area, and subsequently having to retrace our steps.
