Route 66 has been decommissioned so a lot of it is on freeways and once in a while you see signs for "Historic Route 66" where you have to turn off and take parts of the old road. We are tired of the LA traffic so we head to Barstow without turning off some of the road.

Barstow is a small town, there is a section where it is ol skool Americana. Kinda like the older side of Vegas, some motels still have signage ...

We left Ventura early, drove through my old stomping grounds in the San Fernando Valley to San Bernadino and took I-15 north. It was very windy and rainy over Cajon pass. ... Mexican.I honestly feel as someone who cannot cook other than to save his life that mexican cuisine might just be the one I could master. Molten morass with bungled beans and firepeppers.
Oh and the great,great thing about America - nothing is strange and nobody is eccentric.You can get away looking like anything and behaving however you like provided nobody gets hurt.Its difficult not to like the place and as ever the people are just as helpful as you could want..

The trail went over the dam, so we followed it. After reaching the end, we soon found another dam. This one was a little shorter, so we got to the end more quickly.
