Immigration and customs were a walk by, past men with guns, then Simon came striding across the parking lot to usher us to the waiting minibus. Cycling along the river allowed us to check out the locks, there was one which had two locks side by side: one was an old push style lever lock with the old hand ratchets while the other was a fully mechanised pinion and rack geared system the same as the set up we'd seen in just about all of the French canals that we'd been on.
