... for us as they were the same size as the ones that we brought out so we'll be able to get our panniers into the boxes too - the only problem being now how to get the bikes to Heathrow! (cycle, by underground or a maxi-taxi??? decisions). Cycling along the river allowed us to check out the locks, there was one which had two locks side by side: one was an old push style lever lock with the old hand ratchets while the other was a fully mechanised pinion and rack geared system the same as the set up we'd seen in just about all of the French canals that we'd been on.
