... we should go to the arrivals as there was a shop that packaged luggage and he said they would help us. We also went to have a look at Qantas but they had no-one on duty and British Airways did not know. The shop at the arrivals place turned out to be the right spot, they even had boxes there - did we want one now? ... our beer with the safe knowledge that we'd a roof on our heads for the night - ironic that we'd lugged the tents all around Spain and France and not needed them and then the first night away without them ad it was looking like we'd really need them. By then it was getting a bit late and the hotel was not offering any meals that night so we decided to stay in an just have some liquid calories to keep us going till breakfast time in the morning.

... woken me up to sort my phone out. After about an hour I figured out that I needed to activate via I tunes, lucky for me the apt. Had a PC. So, now sorted we went out for a walk. Enjoyed most of 5th avenue, Rockafeller is impressive and then Empire State, Chrysler all quite tall. My favourite buildings werent tall though, Grand Central terminal was amazing and I loved the flatiron. ...

We arrived at Heathrow. At 6 am. By the time we had collected our bags etc it was after 7. We went thought the doors to meet Jo.

She had hired a zip car to collect us and we drove home to her flat. Her flat is lovely - opposite the Twickenham Police Station station and next to a supermarket and it backs onto a park.

We had breakfast together. And decided our plan for the week together.

Thimphu to Punakha, Day 3

... we were taken to the National Memorial Chorten. It is a place of worship with a temple, stupas and prayer wheels, built by a Queen for her late husband. It was very busy as Tuesdays are traditional days of worship in Thimphu. We went to the arts and crafts school before heading off on the very twisty road to Punakha.
