... meets the Interstate again in Boulder. It's a beautiful drive and follows the the Beaverhead and some other beautiful rivers. This is a fly fishing mecca. We stopped in a municipal park in Twin Bridges for an overnight stay for free. It was a beautiful park right along the river. There is even a bicycle camp built here by Bill White to accommodate cyclists following the Lewis and Clark trail. It is a nice spot and would be a welcome place for cyclists

... game - calf branding. A celebrated occasion, this display of calf roping, horsemanship and strength is a male dominated arena (not to say I was wanting to flip cows for a whole day). Whereas the 'wag' team, me included stood at the edge ready to assist the leather chap and spur clad cowboys with their every need - beer, syringes, tags and red hot branding irons. A traumatic, but necessary experience for the barely handled calves, the atmosphere was thick with ...

... with Howard and his wife Suzanne who had since moved their RV to another spot a few miles up the road. We didn't do much throughout the day as we had trouble with flies and mossies so we stayed inside the van and did school work and read. We did go for a short walk before lunch but Zach and I gave up fairly early on and Steve and Holly carried on for an hour or so. We made lunch and had a relaxing afternoon. Howard picked us up at about 5.30 as planned ...
