... the fact remains Alick decided to abandon his files and months of planning and threw caution to the wind and packed the car, oz tent and all the necessary all by lunchtime! Shows it can be done. We were on the road by 5:49 and had a quick stop at the Engen in Hermanus and were soon driving threw the glorious canola fields and past Blue Cranes heading for Worcester and took the Over Hex Valley turnoff to bypass Worcester to get to the N1! ... his Honda Motorbike collection, which is probably the most extensive in the world ,for that specific era.

We then hit the main road out of Steynsberg heading North, to Gariep Dam. We had lunch at The Gariep Dam Hotel which over looks the whole dam. Awesome panoramic view!!!

We stayed at Lily Guesthouse in Bloem, which was real good, for our last night!!!

... here, I was in bed, Star went for breakfast, I eventually went up and literally fell into the swimming pool, I needed that! Basically dossed around the hotel and went for dinner at DK hake and calamari, a couple of beers, took DB up to Avanti to meet her mate Alex Lees Yorkshire CCC who was late, and back to hotel to write this.

Tomorrow drive up to Johannesburg foe flight home, Alexi (Virgin), Bob and Drakey (Air France) and me and Star (KLM) 8'o clock, 9'o clock and us at ...

had the Womans Monument and in addition they had some art work based
on this theme. This included a metre high ball of barbed wire with a
huge pair of knitting needles stuck through. On leaving here we went
to a campsite recommended by the tourist office, only to find they
