... which held many of the slave quarters. The house is on a mountain that’s around 850ft tall, so it has some great views of the Shenandoah Valley.

After a busy week, I’ve spent my Saturday helping to clean the outside of the RV – which is quite challenging. The front was covered with bugs, and trying to get those off was not particularly fun, but now that it’s clean, it is rather satisfying! I have just one week left until I am back in the ...

... walk to see the cemetery of unknown soldiers and see the canons on display at the site of the battle at Ball's Bluff. This battle was on 21 October 1861. We nearly walked on a turtle on the path, it was so well camouflaged. Continuing on towards Gettysburg we decided to stop at the National Shrine Grotto of our Lady of Lourdes. We haven't visited a church for a while and most tourists will know that churches and cemeteries seem to dominate on places to ...

Awoke this morning at 6am to get ready for the Madison county farmers markets! In the short space of about an hour I had breakfast, coffee, packed my bag and checked on my ducks... We left about 7.20am and of course halfway there I forgot my wallet! Stupido! Anyway, wasn't too much of a big deal. ... back and get a photo. This was our first experience of 'Deliverance’ country. The second was when Chris was walking back to the RV with his coffee and he had a do a double take at the local Christian Charity shop where he saw a poster of Hilter and Moa and some other dictators and a sign underneath saying gun control does not work. Upon closer inspection there were several posters in the window all stating that gun control does not work including one that mocks ...

... came home after that due to the extreme heat and humidity. We then stayed in the beautiful air conditioned house then left about 9 to watch the fourth of July firworks. The firworks were great and we had a good view from accross a field. Along with the fireworks the sky was also filled with heat lightening, which caused the recent fires. Although dangerous it looked pretty awesome! So overall a pretty good 4th of July celebration!
