... not as expensive as it would have been a year ago. I visited two countries I had never been to before and explored eight new cities/towns. I never got lost and I never felt unsafe. And now it feels like I was never gone! However I have lots of pictures and lots of memories to keep the experiences I had alive.

          Bonjour amis et la famille!
Hello Friends and Family My trip is coming up soon. I leave for Paris from Chicago at 8pm on Aer Lingus on Oct. 1. I have a 4 hour layover in Dublin and then I arrive in Paris at 4:30pm Oct. 2. Some of you have asked for an itinerary so I thought I'd share.

I am spending the first 3 days on my own and then joining a Rick Steves Tour the rest of the trip.

          Oct 2 – Oct. 6 I am staying at the Solar Hotel, a ...

Thank you for all of your well wishes. They really mean a lot to me. Oh, and a special shout out to David H who sent me a translation of "I would like a beer, please" in Portuguese! :)

          And so the adventure begins...

Total sleep time was about 3.5 hours. We decided to walk in order to get our bearings and soak in the neighborhood. The museum was well worth it and we were both drawn in by many of the famous pieces of art. Notable was Daphne & Apollo, Pluto & Proserpina. Bernini was absolutely amazing. Our brains were overwhelmed by ...

... during my last trip to Chicago. We share a number of interests including fine dining. I'll be having dinner with him every night for the rest of my time in Chicago.

Topolobampo shares a kitchen with Frontera Grill but the menu is quite different. I got the five-course vegetarian tasting menu. It was good but I wasn't blown away by it.
