    ... the shores young people were playing beach volleyball, so we found a shaded spot to have a fairly late picnic lunch, to have entertainment in front of us.
    We took the esky back to the car, then walked along a very long pier to get fresh air and enjoy the water life.
    I was amazed by so many ducks in one spot, probably enjoying the water without cool rain to spoil it!

    ... flat, but the gravel slowed us down quite a lot. Along the way we stopped in a really nice town and had some ice-cream before the flnal 10 miles of the day. I've found cycling over 60 mile gives you way too much of a good excuse to eat anything you want! When we made it to Rochester we stayed with a guy called Jo who rents out his house on airbnb.     ... Rochester to visit on old friend from our time in Pittsburgh. Sesh, Sandhya, and twin 14-year-old daughters Aditit and Anjana treated us to an wonderful dinner and stay. We really enjoyed catching up and reminiscing about friends, professors, and Pitt places. The next morning we walked along part of the Erie Canal in Rochester- nice time - before our trip to UMASS!

    ... So far on this trip we've had eyes on the other four of the Great Lakes, so we had to make sure we had the fifth one as well. We drove to Rochester and stopped first at an antique mall right on the shore of the Irondequoit Bay. The view looking north across the bay was pretty cool, and the family of geese protecting the entrance to the parking lot was pretty neat as well.
