... why. It was a breathtaking view. OF course, this time of year you need to be cautious of taking deep breaths due to the large swarms of bugs (mosquitoes, gnats and black bugs of some kind) that would surround your head.

Well, tomorrow we're going to head further east and then turn south into mainland Michigan. More antique stores to find, more lakes to see, and several train rides that I'm hoping to find open this time of year. More later.

... beaqring rocks in the refuse heap of an abandoned copper mine. A pretty unique experience and we can't wait to see what they find when they cut the rocks open in their studio. The sunset and the final rays of golden sunshine made some of the pine branches glow like burnished copper - truly magical.

The Keweenaw peninsula juts out from Upper Michigan into Lake Superior. On the way we passed through Hancock-Houghton which looked really interesting, worthy of much more than a pass through.
