After a further three days lazying about on the Amazon star which left 30 minutes late at 12:30 pm we have gracefully arrived in Belem. Unlike the first trip from Tabatinga to Manaus this one proved more expensive and uneventful. For starters everything on the boat was a bit shabbier and cost more. Jungle in a city in a jungle
... Unfortunately we didnt have more time to spend there. The bus station was nearby and we popped in to buy tickets for the next night. We then failed to find a specific restaurant I wanted to visit and instead hunted for something to eat in the old quarter which was competely dead apart from four bars on the four corners of a crossroads in the centre. I ate a confusing and messy banana and cheese sandwich which tasted great (sorry Sarah).
