Made it!

Five weeks, 8 major cities, four continents, 4 radio stations, 8 food markets, 6 tribal or fishing villlages, WMDB actually walked past 19 bookstores in A-dam, 20+ musuems, pickled herring sandwiches, chocolate waffles, pancakes to DIE for, trams, Red Light District, the lights and sights and fashionable footwear of Paris, swarms of hunger immigrants selling everything from super-glue to TP on the streets, cattle stampedes, and the second worst roads I have ever encountered.

18 days

18 days.
432 hours.
25,920 minutes.
1,555,200 seconds.

Not enough. Never enough. This is all the time I have left. 18 days until I get very quickly and very abruptly brought up to speed regarding my decisions. 18 days until I have nothing. In 18 days I will knowingly and deliberately give up a life of complete enjoyment, comfort, safety and love ...

Thanksgiving

I want to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving.
I had a great thanksgiving week. I want to thank some of you who have already donated. Thank You.

My grandparents came and brought me money from some of my sponsors. I had to make sure I sent out thank you e-mails. My dad had to send in more money to People to People so I could get a confirmed spot in the program.

I will have soap for sale soon, and details of my other fundraisers.

A Capitol Time, or, Desperately Seeking Irma

... of a Confederate Army general. The textbook definition of 'class.'

And remember kids, the next time someone asks you, "What good ever came of George W. Bush?" you may fire back the following response: "The 1994-1997 Texas State Cemetery Restoration and Enhancement Project, that is what." You are most welcome.

Saying Goddbye

... o:shapelayout>I was lucky enough to watch my oldest niece and
nephew grow up. I coached their soccer and basketball teams and taught
them inappropriate words. I let my nephew shift gears and basically drive
my truck when he was 4. I was 21. I shouldn't have been allowed
around children. So it was bittersweet hanging out with Libby and ...

Going Away Party

... days before, so I had gotten to hang out with her already. People were awesome for coming and hanging out. We had a blast. We went from early afternoon until the early hours of the next morning. Drunk Cranium was a lot of fun. I have great friends. But I don't have pictures. Someone must though. Email me if you do.

Day 7 - Austin, TX and Balmorhea, TX

... like an owl - with big eyes and horns lit up on top. The story is that the architecht was a local guy that applied but did not get in to the University of Texas. So he went to Rice instead where the mascot is the owls. After graduating with an architechture degree he was commissioned to build a huge bank building in downtown Austin. His design was the building I described - from each corner of the building it really looks like an owl! Pretty much an "in ...

Leaving Austin...

... neighbor Angela for giving me a ride to the airport in the freezing cold on Monday! I got to the airport to check in for my flight and it turns out that Delta overbooked the flight and was offering vouchers for people to take a later flight. I ended up riding in a 15 passenger van with 9 other people down to the San Antonio airport and getting a first ...

This may be redundent to those of you who received an email from us. We are having trouble capturing WIFI signals on our laptop, so we have to borrow a computer to submit this. Here is what happened following the two inch snow in Ft. Worth, the day before our departure. Our flight from Dallas Ft. Worth to Chicago was cancelled and we were rerouted through Miami. Of course southern Florida was experiencing tornadoes, thunderstorms and ...
