... we left the city, my car began to overheat. Apparently the stop and go traffic along with the oppressive heat was too much for the beamer. Got it checked out: the fan is just moving a little slowly, but everything is ok particularly if I keep the speed up so wind pushes more circulating air over the engine. Still, not the best news to get as we continue into the desert.

Next stop: an overnight drive to El Paso!

... good value verballing the history of Austin as we passed through and past various Austin landmarks. A real raconteur this bloke with a grey pony tail and tea cosy on his head. Lots of memorable stories but no mention of Lance Armstrong though.

Ol' Willie gave each of us a duck quacker to use during the trip. We were encouraged to quack at the pedestrians we drove past. We were also compelled to quack at Ol' Willies duck jokes too!

The concept is an actual barn converted into a drive-through alcohol shop, where you can sit in your car, whilst it gets loaded with any bottled beers from around the world that you have a craving for.
