    On 9/9 we rode the Alpine Express gondola, then the Metro Alpine subterrainian cable to reach the Ice Pavillion, the largest ice grotto in the world. In the grotto there were pathways with many ice sculptures along the way.     On 9/6 w e traveled by train and bus from Langnau in Emmental to Saas-Fee, a trip of about 3 hours. The scenery changed from rolling hills to mountain peaks, some with snow on them. Saas-Fee is a hiking and skiing resort that is lesser known than other Swiss locales such as nearby Zermatt, home of the Matterhorn. No cars are allowed in Saas-Fee so we had a short walk to our hotel. ...
