Arrived Heathrow at lunch time and used my British passport to get through immigration quite quickly and on to a bus that took me to Gloucester.There I took a local bus (a very scenic route that took ages!) to Stroud,where a short taxi ride found me at my house.By now it was dark and I was a bit anxious about finding the key hidden in a prearranged place in the garden....but there it was!. People have asked me, why Istanbul? This has stumped me; I'm not overly sure. I have vague ideas why: its an interesting city, it means cycling the width of Europe and it will certainly test us physically and mentally to get there. In the end, I respond with - why not?
