Kauai - Day 9 - Gardens, burgers and traffic

... through all the towns along the way. Plus, the last 15 miles is narrow, winding, and right beside beaches and spectacular surf views, so that part is especially slow.

Limahuli was interesting. It's a part of the National Botanical Garden system and specializes in native indigenous Hawaii plants, of which there are really very few any more due to the waves of invasion by humans bearing ecological gifts ...

... so I headed out to the hammock to let the girls do their thing. After everyone was ready, Livvy and sister eve in their dresses, eve turns to Liv can you do my hair now? Baring in mind the ceremony is in 20 minutes, Livvy agrees to the frustration and works her magic.

We checked some north shore spots and they decided to take me out to Boboe's. I had yet to hear of Boboe's, but it is the next reef over from the more well-known Cannons. The waves looked pretty good from the beach, but ...

Trail Running!

... it's a 5 mile trail (2.5 miles each way) with at total elevation gain of 1,250 feet. We ran to the top in 25 minutes. Now, I really don't think that information is correct because a flat 2.5 miles would probably take me about 20 minutes to run and this thing was up hill almost the entire way and very steep, but that's what it says so that's what I'll use in my story. It was a *****, but it felt great once we reached the top. The top afforded ...
