This morning we took a train out of Central station to Delft. Central station is where sailors and passengers would enter into Amsterdam long ago. It is old and beautiful. We sat in the most beautiful Starbucks I have ever seen and had breakfast. We were on our way to the Royal Delft factory to tour it and paint our own Delft. More on that later.

[Jola's edit: He says it was uneventful, which is true if you don't count the first several minutes of his passing up all the various available seats because he didn't want to sit next to anyone other than me and if you discount the guy across from us once we were sitting who insisted on whistling for the entire hour.]

... was delightful and the Dutch were out in force enjoying the day.

We planned for a night train from Amsterdam to Copenhagen, so our last afternoon was spent window shopping (not in the Red Light District) and people watching. We found a corner cafe parked our weary bones and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of this hyper active hub of hedonism!

At 8 p.m. we entered our sleeper car for the ride to Denmark.

... wine-and-beer party with two other Canadians from Prince George the night before, but still decided to get myself off to Delft. The beautiful thing with the Utrecht-Delft train route is that it doesn't exist as a direct line, so you have to go via Den Haag, so - not knowing whether what I was doing was actually train ticket fraud or not - I hopped out at The Hague for a poke around to get double the Dutch towns for my money.

... portraits interesting, as he was a fellow ginge like me. Woohooo. The sunflowers were less spectacular than expected, but still cool. After that, Marilyn headed off to some sessions she had at ESC, whilst we wandered off to Vondelpark. Had some bagels and coffee for breakfast, which were ok. Vondelpark was nice... but coooold.
