    ... and lava jewellery stores. Upon enquiry we found the very odd pineapple ceramic items were in fact acorns and in Sicily are placed for welcoming guests. A good explanation but it did not make any of us rush out to buy one to haul about Sicily.   I parted with the group and luckily found the hotel again.     ... place is crowded, even now and it must be heaving in the full summer. Last night they had a Ferrari Festival and there were over 100 cars from all over the world parked in the streets, this must be what thay mean by "streets paved with gold".

    Ok, how are we going to top yesterday? Easy, have another day with Lucan and Daniela!!!

    Sam and I were unsure of whether we were going or staying in the hotel we were booked into, so therefore were not knowing what to do in the morning. In the end we decided to stay a 2nd night and move to Atlantis Bay Hotel on Friday. So now that was decided and we had our breakfast, we were ready for a swim.     ... is really narrow and the shops all tiny. Space is a premium so that is the only way it works. Along the way we checked out all the local foods and restaurants which do a good trade in this resort town. The photos really say it all.

    At the very end of town is the entrance to a Greek Roman Theatre which was built in the 3rd century AD and is still used as the town meeting place.

    ... of tourists! They hold concerts in the ancient theater still - Patty Smith was coming soon - how amazing! We enjoyed artists at work, musicians creating a wonderful atmosphere, more churches, the ancient arches into & out of the ancient city, beautiful vistas and lots of shops.
    Drove down to the marina ...... gone are the sandy beaches now they are grey toned small round pebble beaches but a beautiful ...
