... creams and waffles. Specialty Flemish stews for dinner were spot on. Day of food, good times.

3 votes - FOOD. Chocolate shops everywhere. Da Vinci ice creamery's noir et noir dark chocolate flavour. The best, hands down. Waffles. Hot, sweet, crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the middle. Good thing Lizzie decided to try a health kick AFTER Brugge.

Greetings from Ghent (also spelled Gent, Gant, and Gand just to make reaching it extra confusing.)
This city is the home of a charming young Belgian gentleman I met when we were both studying in Spain a few years ago. I messaged him just before I left for the trip to get his insider's picks and tips and he ended up inviting me to stay for the whole weekend. Pretty awesome.

... stopped, who were amazing. They did their act so slowly and not a ripple of muscles shown at all. They defied gravity.

We bid him farewell and returned to Spring Tide to have dinner and freshen up ready to go out and see a GREAT jazz band called “Les Haricots Rouge” who had us in fits of laughter one minute then inspiring some great dancers to the dance floor in the park.

... office open and the machine did not accept our card! We asked someone and they said you can buy a ticket on the train. We felt rather guilty getting on a train without a ticket, but the guard (A very pleasant young lady) came along to check tickets and yes we could get one – phew! When we arrived back at Kortrijk the place was buzzing, and 1 particular street was into partying already. One pub decorated as a beach bar and another as a snow covered ...
