... Fields museum and beautiful buildings. It is very pretty to walk on the old ramparts all around the city. At one of the city gates they hold a last post ceremony. They have held it every night at 8pm since ww1. When we were there they told the story of two brothers that died on the exact date 100 years ago. ... fixed up my iPad and securely stored my photos. It was raining when we tried to leave for the Y.C. So our families with cars have very kindly been ferrying us back and forth. It settled down once we arrived and the kids were able to line up for their launch time without getting wet. Today was the Opening Ceremony for the International Cadets 2013 World Championship. 11 countries are taking part this time. Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland and the Ukraine. There was a long walk for them in the parade but I think it was to allow time to notify the army helicopter which had the paratroopers on board. ... and I then found some lunch and wandered around the shops. We found some chocolate shops and a couple of nice clothes shops. It's more catering for the tourists on this side of the Yser River than where we are but I prefer to visit there and return to our quieter side. ... If you are reading this blog - I will let you work it out. The boys got their backpacks filled or a grocery bag to carry back on the tram to the cabin. The eggs made it but we forgot milk. Luckily, I was able to get a ride with the Goodfellows who had just arrived and needed to also go stock up for the next two days. They have hired a car so I directed them to another supermarket, the Okay brand! It was more like a small warehouse with lots more selection than the Carrefour ...
