... enjoy the amazing view. The weather was not permissive, and we didn't even bother to get out of the car. Funnily, Mark was there twenty years ago and had rain then as well although not as much. He climbed the tower then, but didn't have a great view. Given the beautiful weather yesterday, he had hoped that this time would be better, but it ...

... Nascar Hall of Fame, and Charlotte motor speedway. Actually, it was Bec's idea to do the drive in 2 shifts and have a day in Charlotte, so I have to thank her for thinking outside the box on that one.

This is where we begin our adventure. Our home is in Charlotte. We do leave behind our two girls, their husbands and the three grandchildren, Jeremy, Kaitlyn and Riley. We also leave behind two adorable step grands...Britney and Dillon. We will miss all of them terribly.

They only had one goal post at their field (you can look it up), so they played at West Rowan every year. Jim and I were the stars of the team, of course. That is how pathetic we were. Then, Jane's SECOND cousin, once removed, Diane and her husband, Tom, invited us for a wonderful meal ...

... tourist complex. After enduring 120 billboards for more than 200 miles, this is what you've waited to see.

South Of The Border (or SOB, as it's known to insiders) is a unique of Dixie and Old Mexico. At first you wonder what all this Mexican stuff is doing in South Carolina.

When we arrived there we were disappointed in what we saw. So we took some pictures and filled the car with gas and off we went ...
