Central Park est magnifique, les arbres sont de toutes les couleurs, le ciel est bleu... Trop bien!
On se promène, mais tout en sachant qu'on va devoir se grouiller pour ne pas rater ...

I wanted to get the most out of NYC through the cheapest means possible. This means staying at a very ****** hotel, eating light, and avoiding the subway. I was amazed at these three important factors: hotel, dining, and transportation.

Open up a hotel / hostel in NYC and charge whatever you like, despite the ****** conditions! (the same condition goes to restaurants that serve putrid food at high prices) I couldn't even open ...

... buildings, the steam rising from the drains, the hotdog vendors and the yellow cabs which at peak times simply dominate the streets in terms of the number of them. One other thing I really enjoyed was the diversity of the architecture in all the buildings, there are so many amazing buildings.

... back to LAX on monday and took a cool mini-shuttle thing down to manhattan beach. i realised it was last official beach trip / sunset of my trip so that was kind of a sad moment, but on the other hand i cant think of a better place to have spent my last beach - the most gorgeous sunset in a while. my flight to NYC was made all the more exciting (!) by a sighting of bryan mcfaddon who was on the same flight (he looks the exact same in real life ...

... relaxed and took some pictures. Deshane set her time to buy lunch for 1200 so we all got in line and bought the usual over-priced stadium food. Once the game started Ra'ina was already bored. Of course the stadium magically became full to the brim right before the game started and there was no room to move around. I couldn't get over how disgusting and filthy the stadium gets! ... relatively easy to get around on the subway or taxi. We hit all the big sights, including taking an open-top bus (actually it was freezing that day!!), the empire states building, 5th av, Macys and of course the Staten Island ferry past the Statue of Liberty.

Took it easy this morning, bit of a lie-in and breakfast at Starbucks! Another beautiful day. Walked downtown from the hostel through Greenwich Village, Noho & Soho. Saw Ground Zero & the Financial discrict, also went to Battery Park. Tonight, headed for Brooklyn with Amanda from our trek in India. ------- We took it easy this morning and had a bit of a lie-in. ... for the local metro lines and a subway - it makes the Manchester metrolink look like a model. There are bars and a food hall inside the main hall, which has star constellations set in the ceiling. So we sat and had a wine or two looking at the stars and talking to a group of new yorkers, one who owned a restaurant, about the merits of black puddings (no I promise I won't start getting homesick).
