... Walking trail is closed!! Think we can spot a bit of a landslide further around the coast. So we head back to the Manarola settlement and decide to hop on the next train and get off at Coniglia and hike on from there to Vernazza. Arriving at Coniglia train station we see that the only way is up! We follow a path, and then a tiered stairway, shedding coats, jumpers, thermals(nearly) as we climb. The poor thing was up all night and was exhausted, and by morning was still vomiting. Problem, we were getting picked up by taxi at ...

We've decided we aren't fans of northern Italy but will return some day to see Florence, Venice and Lucca. And maybe then the roads to Cinqueterre will be open, or I'll learn how to be on a ferry/boat without being ...

It's 11pm, and we're sailing happily along the French coast. If I say happily, those of you who know my sailing history will realise that it must be very calm. However there have been murmurings of some unsettled weather ahead, but we think it's just a rumour to scare people like me. We said goodbye to Ventimiglia this morning, and caught the train to Genoa. At Savona lots of young people boarded, and two young women sat beside us. They explained that it was the day ...
