Lucca to Genoa
... this one the wipers, this is the ignition key - you have to turn it to get the electrics on then pull up the starter. Wait a minute... tell me the starter doesn't whirr if the ignition is off? Yep - turn switch then pull starter - it starts. Straight away. Bugger.

Overbooked
Flight on time to Genoa...bumpy landing with Ryanair and a woman shouting like we were going to crash....
Arrived at Melia Genoa, and overbooked so they sent me to 5 star Grand Hotel Savoia (lots of history).
No pool here, but gym and jacuzzi in the terrace upstairs. But they upgraded me to the Suite which is fantastic and its downtown so I walk straight to the port in 2 mins.

Get Lost!!!
... on the Corso Italiana overlooking the ocean as I write this. It's overcast today and my pictures don't look that great. There are only a few people walking by. I try to eavesdrop and see if I can pick up some of the Italian they are speaking. 9 time out of ten I can only make out a few words. That's ok, I don't like eves dropping anyway. Hahahaha.
I'm going to make my way back. It will take me about an hour or more. I hope ...
Train to Genoa
... I'm hoping to make a day trip to there to see the Tower of Pisa when I go to Florence. I was told its a quick trip and there is nothing really to see but the tower.
We keep going through these long tunnels with glimpses of the ocean and rocky coastline as we exit and entry the next tunnel. I'm assuming we are going through mountains.

... some ideas around. Marcus wanted to rent a car which actually seemed like a great idea at the time because it is only a 3 hour drive home and was just a straight path. As a group we decided to just hop on the next train and see what would happen, which was sort of exhilarating. Hopping on the train we had no idea what would come of it, but when the lady came around to check tickets she was nice and said we could just purchase a ticket to Pisa and it was 17 Euros.
