... square in Carmelo had a couple of options, one of which worked.

Turns out the hostel does not exist where stated and most
hotels near the river, about 10 blocks from the Plaza. Had to go to the ferry
terminal to get decent info and a map and then settled on a nearby hotel after
exhausting 3 other, 2 of which were unmanned – 700 pesos and not nice!

... Montevideo yesterday, has driven over to Punta early in the morning to meet us at the pier at 9 AM. Our first stop was close by at a fish market on the water, to visit the seals hanging around to enjoy the treats that the fish sellers threw to them as they cleaned the fish. Next stop was at the beach to admire Punta's best known landmark, the fingers of a giant hand, poking up out of the sand, by Chilean artist ...

... have left in cash and we will still be far from São Paulo. There are plenty of cambios ( exchange services) but converting Uruguayan pesos to Brazilian reals is a killer sucky deal! I guess we will have a nice lunch and then exchange the rest:) Worst case scenario there is a casino around the corner... Hrm.. Maybe I can double the amount!! Haha nah! Sensible as always I will exchange the money:) Adios Uruguay y Oi ...

... the season - well itīs really autumn here. We enjoy jumping around in the fantastic waves here too!

We are doing a bit of cooking here too. Itīs very nice to cook your own food after eating out most of the time since we been away and Iīm starting to get bored with restaurant food (well apart from the steaks but you cannot eat steak every day - too expensive and not that good for you either)
