... br> Jen and Matt flew in from Den Hague to spend Easter with us and we enjoyed their company as we explored the Cotswold landscape. We are trying to determine which is actually the prettiest village in England.
My guide said it is Castle Combe, the little village where the movies Dr Doolittle and War Horse were filmed. The Readers Digest suggested it is Bourton-on-the-water -" the Venice of the Cotswolds". ...

Sorry for the chee-z title.. Struggling with being clever this weekend. For Easter weekend, we were lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend instead of the normal 3. ... amazing experience touching and glimpsing this bit of the past.

We leave the Romans behind us for the Georgians. Elizabeth has found a fashion museum that houses clothing from the Georgian Age to the present. Everyone enjoys it, surprisingly. The costumes and dresses are beautiful and fascinating. The style of clothing throughout the ages and the necessary undergarments is so intriguing. Dresses as wide as a pony with intricate and detailed filigree ...

... he’s not paying as careful attention to sidedness as I am. As opposed to driving all the way in to the city and then attempting to find parking, we opted for a park and ride close by in Odd Down that was reasonably priced (more reasonable if you think of pounds as dollars, which is of course the wrong thing to do). Once in town, we began with a visit to the abbey church (the rest of the abbey no longer really in evidence). We just made it in time for a tower tour that was set to ...
